Counsellor Glasgow & West London

A brief history of me, and how I became a therapist: Counsellor Glasgow

  • Before becoming a therapist, I enjoyed a ten year career in the music industry as a singer and songwriter.
  • I re-trained at Roehampton University where I graduated, top of my year, with a First Class Honours degree in Integrative Counselling.
  • During my time there I started my work in the voluntary sector with Kids Company counselling within a school setting and with teachers vulnerable to work-stress related issues.
  • I went on to work with the Naz Project London offering counselling to a diverse client group, working with ethnic minorities and vulnerable individuals grappling with sexual health and relationship issues.
  • I have continued my work in the charity sector since opening my private practice and currently hold a voluntary position at Wimbledon Guild working with people in the community living with mental health issues.
  • I am currently working towards my Masters, continuing my studies in psychotherapy and counselling research to keep at the cutting edge of practice.
  • My specialist academic area of interest is the study of time within the therapeutic relationship.
  • As a practitioner I have particular experience working in the field of addiction, relationship issues, and with depression and anxiety. I have worked extensively with people suffering from disordered eating.
  • I have also worked extensively with the LGBT community and those dealing with ethnic and cultural issues, bereavement and  trauma.
  • I use an integrative model of practice but have been particularly influenced by the work of the psychiatrist Laing, the psychoanalyst Winnicott, and existential thinkers such as Heidegger and Levinas.
  • I am now a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor practicing out of Glasgow and West London, working in private practice with clients of all ages, backgrounds and orientations
